DREAMING OF A CATSKILLS VACATION?

Ok, how many of you have been dreaming about a great Catskills' vacation?

I didn't think so.

I mean, the place hasn't been popular since the days when 'Baby' slipped out to 'midnight boogie' with the local Patrick Swayze-like lothario.

But The Roxbury - 2258 County Highway 41, Roxbury, NY, USA - is out to reinvent the Cat's 'dead since the 60s' image with fun movie/TV theme rooms like:

Say hello to 'Maryanne's Coconut Cream Pie Room'. So big, it almost can't fit on my blog.

The mate might have been a mighty sailin man and the skipper brave and sure, but we bet they would have melted like cream puffs when they saw these whipped cream throw pillows on top of the round bed! Because of the rounded edges, the bed is closer to queen rather then king size. So you might want to ‘spoon the pie’ a little more than usual. Get it?? The wall opposite the bed has a 50 inch flat screen TV, DVD player, dining area, and coffee station with small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Yes, this is the newest R room & it's based on the purported cooking skills of Maryanne', one of the 'Gilligan Island' castaways.

But, you were more into 'Ginger'?

Well, the R hasn't tackled her yet, but perhaps the 'Angel's Hair' room from Charlie's 'You Know Whats'

After mounting the sculpture of Farrah's hair, we realized that it might be mistaken for Jaclyn's hair as well. So we named the sculpture 'Faralyn.' Like all Big King Themes, this room also has a full-size sofabed and other amenities galore. ...will curl your locks.

And how about:

If you love the nightlife or if you've got to boogie, then this is the room for you! Burn, baby, burn! Disco inferno! One pillowtop king bed and one full size sofabed. Yes that's a swirling disco ball above your bed and, yes, that is a wall that lights up like a dancefloor (on timers, of course). We actually found a wallpaper called disco. It's Le Freak, C'est Chic, baby! The wall opposite the bed has a 50 inch flat screen, DVD player, dining area, and coffee station with small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. 'Tony's Dancefloor' complete with everything but John Travolta &

It's not way above the chimney tops, but your troubles will melt like lemon drops in this room! Yes, folks, a yellow brick road goes right through the center of the room until it joins into a wall-size painting of our version of the Emerald City. The rest of the room sports different hues of green creating our version of being INSIDE the Emerald City. 'The Wizard's Emeralds' - missing Toto & Dorothy but including the Ruby Slippers...

It doesn't matter if you're a good witch or a bad witch, both are allowed to sleep in this king-size pillowtop. Next to it is a full-size sofabed for the munchkins or, depending on what you're into, for a flying monkey and the tin man. And severed witch legs.

Plus there is a lot more to do here than just ogle your bedroom.

If you're into downhill or cross-country skiing, snowboarding, fishing, golfing, hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, tubing, shopping, antiquing, auctioning, museum-hopping, train-riding, horseback riding, atv'ng, paint ball or just relaxing in a tranquil setting, it's all available at or close to The Roxbury.

The place is truly a 4 season getaway.

Ok, price for these theme rooms go from $165 to $235 per night, but the R does offer a ton of special discount packages that give you more bang for your travel buck.

And there are other, more elaborate (& a bit more expensive) 2 bedroom digs where you can bring the entire family.

Hey, what kid wouldn't want to jump into George Jetson's tub?

No George, that's not a glowing red mothership with a matching baby UFO in the distance, it's an illuminated chromatherapy bathtub and sink. Close the shimmering silver metallic curtains, turn out all the other lights, fill up the 45-gallon tub and enjoy a bathing experience that is literally out-of-this-world. And don't worry if anyone in the living room can see through the curtains. They can't.

Just remember, you first might have to explain to him exactly just who the hell the Jetsons are.
