Alone in a new city? Know no one? Like a knowledgable 'pal' to show you some of the ropes?


A call to 'Global Greeters' could fill the bill.


Founded 20 years ago in NYC as 'Big Apple Greeters', GG has spread worldwide to encompass 25 cities. 


So what is GG? Their web site tells it best:


'Greeters are volunteers who love their city so much they volunteer to show (it) to visitors. Not as a guide, but more like a newly met friend!' 


'Greeters will show special places that mean something in their lives...
